Isn't That Enough?

Painting is enough
"Many things already mentioned [in creativity destroyers] make me doubt why I am doing this with my time and does it have any value beyond the good feeling I get while creating."-- LC
I'm afraid my reaction to this is: "Isn't that enough?" How little do you value your own happiness that the enjoyment found in creating something alone can't be a reason for doing it?

It's interesting how it's more socially acceptable to spend time and money on pursuits of short-term happiness or entertainment that are passive (such as going to the cinema or theatre, eating out) yet spend it on paint, canvas, or paper and it's all too easily regarded by family and friends (and ourselves!) as time and money somehow not well spent.

The clich? is that you can't buy happiness, but you certainly can buy art supplies to use happily...!
